We are one of the options on this page, so read it with that in mind. Where another model genuinely fits you better, we have said so.

DIY podcast outreach costs nothing but time, and the time is the reason most founders stop after three appearances. Here is the honest arithmetic.

What should a podcast booking agency cost?
The market splits three ways. Traditional PR agencies run $8,000 to $15,000 a month for a broad media remit. Specialist podcast agencies typically charge $5,000 to $10,000 per placement. Flat-rate services, including Convokast at $499 a month, price per month regardless of how many placements land.
Is pay-per-placement better than a flat monthly rate?
It depends on volume. Pay-per-placement is lower risk for a single appearance, but the economics invert quickly: the more successful your campaign, the more you pay. A flat rate rewards a campaign that works.
How do I evaluate a podcast booking agency?
Ask three things. What exactly counts as a placement, do you approve the target list before pitching, and what happens in a month where nothing lands. Vague answers on any of the three are the signal.
Can I just do podcast outreach myself?
Yes, and for a first handful of appearances it is often the right call. It stops working when the research, pitching and follow-up start competing with running the business, which is usually around the point you want more than one show a quarter.
