SubjectGuest idea for the show: why most people get your topic wrong
Hi there, I have been listening to the show for a while, and the thing I appreciate is that you let guests get past the surface answer. I would like to pitch myself as a guest. I am [your name], [your role], and the angle I would bring is: "Why most people get your topic wrong" Three things we could get into: 1. Why most people get your topic wrong — the specific version, not the generic one 2. What changed my mind about your topic and what it cost to learn 3. What someone listening could do differently this week I run a company in this space, so the material is first-hand rather than researched. If the angle is not right for the show, I am happy to reshape it, or to point you at someone better suited. Either is a good outcome. Thanks for reading, [your name]
Send it as plain text, from your own address, one show at a time. A pitch that looks mail-merged gets treated like one.
Pitching questions
What makes a podcast pitch get replied to?
A specific angle, evidence you have heard the show, and one checkable proof point. Most pitches fail because they describe the guest rather than the episode the host would get out of them.
How long should a podcast pitch be?
Under 200 words. A host is deciding whether the episode is interesting, not reading a CV. Everything else belongs in a one-sheet you link to.
Should I follow up?
Yes. Most bookings come from the second or third touch, spaced a week to ten days apart. Two follow-ups then stop.
Does this tool send the email?
No. It writes the draft in your browser and nothing is stored or transmitted. Copy it and send from your own address, which is the only way it should go out.
